In June of 2017, the IAIA Library was awarded the Will Eisner Graphic Novel Innovation Grant through the American Library Association (ALA) and the Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation.
The program we designed, the IAIA Graphic Novel Contest, offers students the opportunity to learn how to create their own graphic novel through a series of events and submit a short graphic novel of their own creation to the contest. Top prizewinners will win their own booths at Indigenous Comic-Con--an opportunity to network with people in the comics and graphic novel industry and share and sell their artwork. Runners-up will be eligible to win other prizes, such as art supplies, gift cards, and graphic novels.
